Kindergarten and First Grades - More color theory!
Literature: "The Artist Who Painted a Blue Horse" by Eric Carle. Students created their own painted paper orange elephants and blue horses!
Grade 2 - Students enjoyed using kitchen sponges to create a primary and secondary color sunflowers.
Grade 3 - Students chose an animal from the story "The Artist Who Painted a Blue Horse". They created painted paper and drew and cut out their animal and glued it to a painted background.
Grade 4 - Continue color theory. Franz Marc's "The Blue Horse". Students created a colorful chalk landscape and drew their own blue horse to add to it.
Grade 5 and 6 - More color theory! Students mixed primary, secondary colors to formulate and name their own colors!
Grades 7 and 8 - Students put the finishing touches on their abstract art projects.
