POP ART
Lichtenstein, Warhol, Rizzi, Haring, Britto
Kindergarten - The children enjoyed drawing and painting contour cats in complementary colors!
Grade 1 - Literature: Henkes "Old Bear" Children painted and stamped fresh leaves on black paper. They drew and painted "Old Bear" and added the bear to the leaf background.
Grade 2 - Students were introduced to the pop art of Andy Warhol. They stamped colorful foam flower prints using repeat patterns.
Grade 3 - Students drew their own Warhol Campbell's Soup Cans! They created their own unique soup flavors!
Grade 4 - Students traced flower stencils to create a colorful Warhol type collage.
Grade 5 - Intro to the art of Keith Haring. Students were inspired by the graphic art of Haring. They created a silhouette action figure and used repeatedly throughout their composition. They added echo lines, dots and other graphics to give the illusion of movement.
Grade 6 - "Onomatopiea" Students are creating pop art words and incorporating BenDay dots.
Grade 7 - Students are creating Lichtenstein-type still life collages using primary colors, BenDay dots and dramatic black outlines.
Grade 8 - Students are creating expressive art portraits using BenDay dots and speech bubbles.
